The photo at the left is by John Dougall, the in-house Chatter Creek photographer. John takes candid shots of Chatter Creek guests while they ski and ride and he's expert at getting you at just the rignt moment. We're happy to receive his work. John calls this photo, "Steve and Deep". Either Steve is pretty short or that powder is deep and light! We've experienced it at Chatter ourselves, and can vouch for it.

South Park and the roads to Elbow Drive and to RUZM as seen from Lakeview. This area lies to the south of Vertebrae Lodge.

The Chatter Creek cat skiing terrain is so extensive that, after 8 or 9 tours, your Chatter Editor has yet to ski in this southern part of the tenure. What's more, the terrain is being expanded by over 80%

Our classic shot of powder skiing on Vertebrae glacier. Chatter Creek is perhaps the only cat skiing operation in North America to regularly offer such extensive glacier skiing.

December snow at Chatter Creek. A snow shot from 2003, the start of the second year of operation of Vertebrae Lodge. Since then, Chatter Creek has doubled it's lodge space for staff and guests.

A Chatter Creek Cat Skiing guide powder skiing in the Enchanted Forest, an old burn on the East Ridge. This area offers a 2000 ft vertical drop through widly spaced trees and wide open cut blocks.

Chatter Creek Cat Skiing offers a wide variety of tree skiing below about 7000 ft elevation. The alpine terrain at Chatter Creek rises to almost 10,000 ft. Chatter Creek has over 130 sq. km of mountain terrain, and that will soon almost double!

Drop-off on upper Lodge Ridge, atop Dewar's Bowl. The west side of Lodge Ridge provides a huge amount of wonderful powder skiing. This is just one of many large cat skiing zones at Chatter Creek.

The cat skiing terrain at Chatter Creek goes on and on. After many visits to Chatter Creek, this was the first time we had seen this huge alpine area. There are days and days of powder skiing here on long, fairly steep slopes. There is also some very pleasant tree skiing.

Crichton cruising the Phat on the East Ridge at Chatter Creek Cat Skiing. With the protection of the trees, the powder skiing on the East Ridge is particularly good. Lodge Ridge, Staff Trees, Bermuda Triangle are other areas at Chatter Creek that offer good tree skiing.

MegaHooped, Wonderland, Bouncing Chuckles and Jo-Pal. This shot from Lodge Ridge shows it all, and the road to Vertebrae glacier, as it crosses the slope. There's all sorts of powder skiing terrain at Chatter Creek, mellow glaciers, alpine slopes such as this and forest glades. Backcountry skiing does not get much better than this!

A busy day powder skiing on Vertebrae Glacier. We know of no other cat skiing location to provide this amount of glacier skiing at as high an elevation. The mountain views at Chatter Creek Cat Skiing are spectacular.

Powder skiing in the old burns. Chatter Creek offers cat skiing on almost every kind of terrain that can be safely skied. The kind of terrain skied by a group and the rate at which the cat skiing group moves is determined by the group and by safety considerations. Cat skiing is a "low key" experience, with little pressure to "move along".
